Among the many things that boggle my mind about our current era is why everyone is obsessed with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The game, released on March 20, is the latest instalment in a series of Nintendo games dating back to 2001. Back then, I never heard of it, but now that’s where all the action happens! Marc Jacobs collaborated with Animal Crossing fashion on some kind of virtual shirt; there’s an entire Instagram community dedicated to Animal Crossing fashion.
There was a technology conference recently held on Animal Crossing, also the turnips from the game unite us, and I had to look all that up because that time I was totally unknown about this game except that it seems to involve more round-headed humans than animals.
Animal crossing is the game about human character that lives in a village inhabited by several anthropomorphic animals with lots of activities to do like bug catching, fossil hunting and fishing. This Animal Crossing series is widely loved for its open-ended game play which uses internal calendar and clock to replicate real passage of time.
Five animal crossing games have been released globally since its debut in 2001. One each for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 64/iQue player, Nintendo 3DS and Wii. Over 72 million units of the series have been sold globally and have received positive reviews from both critics and consumers.
There have also been three spin-off games released: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp are available for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and mobile devices, respectively. Additionally, Animal Crossing: New Horizons- Happy Home Paradise was released as paid DLC for Nintendo Switch.

What is Nookazon?
A fan-made website called Nookazon allows Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to trade and sell items in-game. Even though it more closely resembles Craigslist and eBay, the website is named after Amazon.
Users can find other players selling a certain in-game item on the website and either buy it for a fixed price or submit an offer. As well as in-game items such as fruit, Furniture and clothing, the website allows trading of “villagers”, which are an integral part of Animal Crossing.
How Nookazon Work ?
Animal Crossing players can create an account to post listings of items they’d like to sell on Nookazon. The players can ask for a set number of Bells or an item they are looking for in exchange. It is arranged by travelling to one of the islands to arrange the trade. A certain amount of trust is built between players through the in-game transactions. Nookazon restricts the sale of items for real currency to prevent players from taking advantage of each other. Rare items cannot be sold for real money, so players cannot profit from them in the real world.
